My name is Greg, and I’m a gourmaniac.
I’ve always liked to cook. My mom tells me that she’d set bowls and whisks on the ground for me to play with before I could walk. Growing up, I was always encouraged to cook and was generally given free range in the kitchen. I remember in 5th grade when I created my first garlic chicken pasta recipe for my family – they graciously smiled and finished a meal that I made with what have had to have been 10+ cloves of garlic. I’ve learned a little since then, but my love for garlic hasn’t changed.
Creating, enjoying and sharing food has played a continual role in my life. When I graduated from college, I discovered joy in cooking. I’ve found it to be an outlet for creativity, a way to bring friends together, to relieve stress, to branch out and be adventurous and try new things. It’s developed into a passion.
Outside of the kitchen music tends to keep me occupied. When the summer roles around, I generally can be found waterskiing and wakeboarding, or hopefully backpacking.
I hope you enjoy my blog. I’ll update as much as I can. Feel free to drop me a line at gourmaniac (at) gmail.com with questions, comments, requests, etc.
